AI-Generated Content Policy

Our Commitment
Music Label Group ("MLG") is committed to embracing technological innovation, including the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in music creation. We believe AI can be a powerful tool for human creativity.
However, this innovation must be balanced with our fundamental duty to protect artists’ rights, intellectual property, and copyright integrity. This policy is designed to protect our artists, our partners, and our platform from legal and ethical risks.
Policy At-a-Glance
AI-Assisted Music? YES.
We welcome original music made with AI tools, as long as it has significant human creativity and is fully declared.
AI-Cloned Vocals? NO.
We DO NOT accept any music that uses AI to clone or simulate another artist's voice. This is a zero-tolerance policy.
What's the Catch? A Rights Grant.
If you can't prove copyright, you grant us a broad license to use and recreate the work. See details.
Do's & Don'ts: Submitting AI Content
This is the core of our policy. Content is divided into "Acceptable" (Section 1) and "Prohibited" (Section 2). Failure to follow these rules is a material breach of your agreement.

We welcome Human-Authored AI Content that meets ALL of these conditions:

Human Authorship
You must warrant that significant human creativity was involved (e.g., you wrote lyrics, added instruments, made substantial edits).

Originality
The work must be original and not an AI 'soundalike' of an existing copyrighted song.

Transparency
You MUST declare that AI tools were used during the submission process. No exceptions.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for the following content:

AI-Derivative Vocal Works
We DO NOT accept any content that uses an AI model to simulate or clone an existing artist's voice.

Infringing "Soundalikes"
Any instrumental or composition created to mimic a specific, copyrighted work without a license.

Unlicensed AI Tools
Content from any AI tool that you do not have a valid commercial license to use.
Key Definitions
Understanding these terms is essential to following the policy.
- "AI-Generated Content" (AGC)
- Any musical work (compositions, masters, lyrics) where an AI system was used in the creation process.
- "AI-Derivative Vocal Work"
- The most critical prohibited item: Any content that uses AI to simulate, clone, or create a "soundalike" of an existing artist's voice.
- "Human-Authored AI Content"
- This is what we accept. AGC where a human had significant creative control (wrote lyrics, added instruments, etc.). This content may be copyrightable.
- "Non-Copyrightable AI Work"
- AGC generated solely by an AI without significant human authorship. This may be considered public domain, which triggers our "Rights Grant" clause.
Section 4: Copyright & The Rights Grant
This is the most important legal section. Your situation determines the rights you grant to MLG. Please select the option that applies to your AI-Generated Content.
4.1: The "Copyright Exception"
If you provide valid proof of authorship (like a U.S. Copyright Office registration), your rights are fully retained as per our standard Distribution Agreement. You grant MLG only the licenses necessary for distribution.
4.2: The "Rights Grant" (This is binding)
Because your work may be considered public domain, as a condition of distribution you grant Music Label Group a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and fully sub-licensable license to:
"Reproduce, distribute, create derivative works from, publicly perform, and otherwise recreate, modify, and exploit said work..."
This license is required for us to commercially exploit the work in territories with ambiguous copyright laws and survives any termination of your agreement.
Section 5: Enforcement & Takedowns
Violation of this Policy is a material breach of your Distribution Agreement. We take this extremely seriously.
Content Takedown
Your content may be immediately removed from all partner platforms.
Account Termination
Your MLG account may be suspended or permanently terminated.
Royalties Forfeited
Any royalties associated with the violating content may be frozen and forfeited.
Legal Action
You will be held liable for all damages, including legal fees, and we reserve the right to take legal action to recover them.
Warranties & Amendments
Finally, a summary of your promises to us, and our right to change this policy.
Section 3: Your Warranties (Your Promises)
By submitting any AI Content, you legally promise (warrant and represent) that:
- You have all necessary rights and licenses (including from the AI tool provider).
- The content is not Prohibited (e.g., no cloned vocals).
- The content does not infringe on anyone's rights (copyright, trademark, etc.).
- All info you provide to us (like the AI declaration) is true and accurate.
Section 6: Policy Amendments
The field of AI and intellectual property law is changing rapidly. MLG reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time to adapt to new legal standards and business practices. All changes will be posted and effective immediately.
